Following up, I’m always (pleasantly) surprised at what ends up being popular at these trainings. The application of the hour seemed to be Flickr photo sharing.
Here are the links for Flickr:
http://flickr.com Flickr photo site
http://flickrcc.bluemountains.net/ Free photos for non-comercial use (and sometime for commercial use)
http://www.flickrbits.com/ Flickr has a number of tools that outsiders have created to make it even better. This is a list of tools to use with Flickr photos.
I will be posting up info about the Summer Institute and next year’s trainings in the next few months, so check back. Once again if you have any questions, concerns, or problems, send a comment to me. I want to help!

Web 2.0 refers to tools on the Web that allow users to comment, and create. There are many great, free tools for you to use in your classroom with students.
If you are interested, the Course Code is: EDTECH20142 on the Electronic Registrar. Feel free to leave any questions here.
Hello! It was a fantastic meeting everyone in the ETLN last night, and a really productive group. Your interest and curiousity kept me on my toes (a good thing).
As promised, here are some links on Diigo. These links include YouTubes and sceencasts showing an AP History teacher who is using Diigo for notetaking homework in his class:

Next here are note taken by Laura MacDonald (thank you Laura)
and here is the video. The quality of the shots are not great, and due to technical problems, it was cut-off a couple times (hence the four different videos. I think I will be working on the video technique going forward, but I thank you for being part of this learning process for me.

Finally, once again, here are is the slideshow that was the bones of the presentation. I will be posting the final presentations from my students here in the next few weeks so you can see how this all turned out for me.
I look forward to seeing you all in May!

On Tuesday April 8, 2008 I’ll be doing a presentation for California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) Region 3 at Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE). The meeting of the Educational Technology Leadership Network (ETLN) goes from 4 - 7 p.m. and includes a dinner at 6. My topic will be about using technology to scaffold and structure research projects, and will include some discussion of digital storytelling.
If you can’t make it in person, you can watch it on the web starting at about 4:20 p.m. (PDT) at: http://edtechtalk.com/live
A preview of sites I’ll look at:

and can be found on Diigo. I hope to see you there!
