It was wonderful working with all of you at this presentation. I hope you all got some useful ideas from this session that you will be able to use in your classroom.

Some thoughts, and some links:

Slideshare is a great site for posting Power Points. There is even a way to add narration. I would strongly recommend Dean Shareski’s PowerPoint extreme makeover video shown below as a must see.

Next, when you have students doing these projects, it’s very helpful to have them “story board” to plan their work. There is a curriculum on Film Making in Discovery Streaming from AFI (American Film Institute). You don’t have to read the rest of it (unless you’re thinking about doing film making), but the planning story boards on page 19.

    Alice:

Great job last Thursday! I know I’ll use voicethread, not just for the high schoolers, but my college students, too. I like to show them how to use some pieces of software and I can see where I might be able to use voicethread and narrate tutorials, using jpegs I capture from taking pictures of my desktop while I am using the software.

I’ll see you in January when you do your podcasting page. In the meantime, go to my podcasting page, http://www.gcast.com/ProfessorHull

Can you resend that gcast url? It’s coming back with a 404 page not found? I’d love to see it, and I look forward to your help at the podcasting training!–Alice Mercer
